  • The inverter can’t be started When charging the lithium battery to between 41~42V

    Description

    1. Wiring mode of the faulty machine: the rocker switch on the switch board is in a short-circuit state, and daily power supply started by switching battery input
    2. Failure phenomenon of customer's inverter: When the lithium battery is charged to between 41~42V, the inverter cannot be started, and switching input switch is invalid for multiple times. 
    The rocker switch must be turned off and restarted then the inverter can be started.


    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    1. By testing the company's existing inverter of the same model, 
    it was found that the output voltage of the converter pcbs of some inverters did not reach DC12V, only about 6, 7V, and it was unable to drive the rear driver board to start.
    2. On the other hand, the same failure problem will occur when the rear driver board is in a dead state, which is most likely caused by a problem with the chip EG8010 on the rear board. 
    After replacing the EG8010 faulty chip that appeared before, test it and confirm that it cannot be restarted after it fails to start.


    Solutions and steps

    1. For the situation in analysis 1, now use TOP222 small switching power supply, replace it with 223, increase the power, and ensure that the output voltage is maintained at about 12V.
    2. For the situation in analysis 2, replace the rear driver board.


  • B36P1000-2 which integrated into the portable power supply will be damaged when it is turned on

    Description

    B36P1000-2 which integrated into the portable power supply will be damaged when it is turned on.


    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    1. When checking the usage status of the customer, it was found that the customer short-circuited the switch, which was in the normally open state, and the start-up of the inverter was controlled by a DC short circuit on the DC side. 
    2. If the short-circuit protection has not been released by the customer, the inverter is damaged by shutting down and then turning it on again. 
    3. The BP series only supports the short-circuit protection of the inverter during operation. If the output terminal is in the short-circuited state, the inverter will be damaged if it is turned on again.



    Solutions and steps

    Replace the rear MOSfet and SPWM driver board, and add a relay circuit at the output end, then supply power to the load after the inverter has a stable output.



  • BPlus3000w will restart when it loaded with 1.6kw

    Description

    When BPlus3000W is loaded with 1.6KW, it will restart in about 4 minutes.


    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    After inspection, it is found that the user uses a low-quality DC circuit breaker at the DC input terminal, which will automatically disconnect after a long period of work, causing the inverter to restart.


    Solutions and steps

    Replace with a qualified DC circuit breaker, the problem will be solved and the operation is normal at full load.



  • Helios II Series Off Grid Solar Inverter Charging Test

    1. Check the system parameter settings, "Forbid mains charging" is not selected in the main options, as shown in the picture below.



    2.Check whether the fuse at the mains input terminal is intact, and whether the rectified DC voltage around 310V is correct.




    3. After a few minutes of power-on, test whether the DC voltage at the output terminal of the charging transformer has risen.



    The picture below shows the battery voltage DC53V when the mains charging transformer is not working just after starting up.



    The picture below shows the battery terminal voltage rises to the charging voltage DC56V after the mains charging transformer starts working after a few minutes of starting up.




  • The front MOS transistor of BP Series 600W is damaged during full load operation

    Description

    The 600W inverter works normally when it is loaded with 300W or less, but the full load operation will quickly lead front MOSFET damaged.


    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    1. After power-on test, the actual situation is that only two of the four front MOSFET are working, which will cause problems when fully loaded.
    2. Inspection found that the fast recovery diode used for rectification of DP1 is damaged.


    Solutions and steps

    Replace the damaged diode.



  • The inverter can work normally when using AGM battery but the front-stage MOSFET bursts after replacing it with a lithium battery

    Description

    The inverter can work normally when using AGM battery. After replacing it with a lithium battery, the situation shown in the figure appears, the front-stage MOSFET bursts.


    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    According to the customer's response, after replacing the lithium battery, the front MOSFET bursts. It can be judged that the voltage of the replaced lithium battery is too high that exceed the voltage range the machine can withstand, causing the front-stage MOS tube to burst.


    Solutions and steps

    Replace MOSFET.



  • After starting up internal combustion engine in train, inverter display will restart if supply power to inverter

    Description

    1. When used in trains, the inverter can be started up normally after opening its front-end circuit breaker;
    2. After starting up internal combustion engine in train, inverter display will restart if supply power to inverter;
    3. The inverter works normally after restart.


    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    1. Products like electric generator, their output voltage amplitude is large after starting up;
    2. 110V inverter\'s input voltage ranges from 85V to 135V;
    3. Analysis shows the reason of display restart is the output voltage fluctuation exceeds rated voltage range.


    Solutions and steps

    1. Do not connect inverter to electric generator\'s output interface directly, the inverter runs better if connected to battery with steady output;
    2. Add a regulated power supply between generator and inverter.



  • The data shown on inverter display is inconsistent with the actual situation of B12Plus2000-1

    Model

    BPlus series pure sine wave inverter 2000W 12VDC 120VAC


    Description

    1. DC input voltage 11.3V, input current 0.2167A. But the data shown on inverter display is inconsistent with the actual situation. As shown in figure 1, 2.
    2. Theoretically, the machine\\\'s output voltage is 110V , but shown on display is around 220V, and its actual output is  0V.
    3. S-C failure occurs after starting up.


    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    DC voltage and current value does not reach the standard value to start up the machine, so the display shows wrong information.


    Solutions and steps

    1. Turn up DC voltage and input current;
    2. Connect good battery to inverter.


     


    Note: 

    A. If DC input voltage is not enough to start up the inverter, its display works normally, but the machine has no output voltage and power, as shown in figure 3;
    B. The display shows wrong information if the DC current is insufficient;
    C. 12V inverter, starting voltage≥13V, starting current ≥5A.

    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    It's probably the battery voltage is too low.


    Solutions and steps

    Improve the power startup voltage.


     


    PS: The boot voltage should be 1V higher than our norminal voltage, which means for 48V machine, the boot voltahe should be 49V or higher.

  • Testing voltage from 24V to 27V, the inverter broke down after starting up

    Description

    1. There is a small power supply for inverter. After testing voltage from 24V to 27V, the inverter broke down after starting up;
    2. There is no load at the output;
    3. The power supply output voltage is 27V, its output current is 1A and can be adjusted to 2.5A at the maximum.


    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    DC output current is too small. Starting current shall be over 5A and starting voltage shall be over 25V while starting up.


    Solutions and steps

    Replace with more powerful battery to assure the output current reach more than 5A.




    Comment: The white machine at the right side is customer's small power supply.

  • B110P300-2 Inverter broke down without output after long-time running

    Description

    1. Inverter broke down without output after long-time running;
    2. Inverter was used in subway tunnel for a long time.


    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    Runtime environment is terrible. Damp and dusty subway tunnel makes PCB board covered with thick soppy dust.
    1. Damp air partially short circuited PCB board, damaging components;
    2. Thick dust weakened heat dissipation, damaging components.


    Solutions and steps

    1. Pay attention to runtime environment, it would be better to place inverter in surroundings with lower moisture and less dust;
    2. If the surroundings cannot be improved, please put inverter into three protection and distribution box or similar box with good heat dissipation.

  • Input voltage 48V BP 3000W broke down after starting up

    Description

    1. Input voltage is 48V, under light condition and with no load;
    2. In above state, trouble light is on and buzzer keeps alarming.


    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    According to description, the possible reasons are:
    1. DC voltage is low or at a critical point, so the inverter cannot be started;
    2. Components is void-welding so poor cotact occurs and the inverter cannot be started normally after transportation;
    3. The customer started the inverter with high power load which leads to the damage of MOS tube. And did not truthfully report the situation.


    Solutions and steps

    According to reason analysis, if the inverter could start after higher the input voltage, the trouble reason is the first.

  • The inverter fails after the three-circuit load is fully opened of BP Series 3000W

    Description

    1. Input DC 23V, Output AC221V, with 3.8A output current of two way load.
    2. Two of the three way loads can run normally. After the three-circuit load is fully opened, it will report a fault and stop output after about 10s.
    3. The back load is equipped with a lightning arrester. After removing the arrester on site, re-test, the fault is still consistent with the description of No. 2.
    4. The front DC power supplies power to the direct current cabinet. The customer did not provide any relevant data, means that the power is sufficient.
    5. Due to project reasons, it is not allowed to dismantle the installed inverter or send it back.
    6. After replacing a new inverter, the same situation still occurs.


    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    According to the above description, the voltage and current of the input and output terminals are normal, and there is no overload. The possible cause analysis:
    1.When two of the back-end loads are in conflict with each other, such as a short circuit, the three loads will be all turned on, and the output will stop.
    2.The input power of the front power supply is insufficient, when the three loads are started at the same time, the front power supply is insufficient, which causes the stop of output.


    Solutions and steps

    1.Check the condition of back load circuit, whether there is short circuit, grounding, etc.or not.
    2.Check and measure the actual power of the front power supply.
    3.Remove the inverter and directly carry a sufficient load to test whether the inverter itself is normal or not.


     

  • No output after using for 2-3 months of B12P2000-2

    Description

    No output after using for 2-3 months, red and blue light are on at same time. 


    Analysis of the possibility of the cause
    1.The ambient temperature and humidity of the inverter is very high, because the BP series are equipped with fans, some particles with trace amounts of water will be sucked into the inverter, resulting in damage to the components in the inverter because of a short circuit of the CPU.
    2. If it is installed on a car, especially in the engine compartment or beside the battery compartment of a large truck, the ambient temperature around the inverter is high and water is easy to enter. The inverter is an electronic product and does not have the waterproof function. , As long as water enters the inverter, a short circuit will occur, resulting in damage of the inverter.
    3.For items with chemical components in the operating environment, if the inverter is installed too close, or the water inlet happens to heavy salt water entering for a long time, it will cause the PCB board to become moldy or salt spray crystals, which will lead to short circuit and damage.


    Fault Causes

    DC input part and AC output part mosfet broken.


    Solutions and steps

    Replace damaged components.

    Fault Causes

    1.customer connected on the output other voltage engine generstor



    Solutions and steps


    As illustrated in above image, the place marked by red box is the actual location of IPM module.

    The four points within the red ellipse are the points we need to measure.



    Measurement procedures: measure IPM module-using  multimeter, 

    and discharge white capacitance at first.

    1.Use black probe to connect 0 point, and use red probe to connect 1, 2, 3 point respectively. 

    The value of measurement should be more than 500 normally.



     2. Change black probe and red probe connection points. 

    Use red probe to connect 0 point, and connect 1, 2, 3 point 
    using black probe respectively. The value should be 1 under
     normal condition as shown below, in another words,
     exceeding multimeter’s measurement range.

    If check all display 0V, means AC output part Mosfet(IPM Module) damaged.


    Solutions

    1. Send back to factory to check


    2. change the Mosfet

  • The inverter did not output and had smell of burnt of B24P2500-2

    The inverter did not output and had smell of burnt. After opening, DC input part MOS tube and fuse exploded, and DC input control board was damaged.

  • AC output part MOS tube/IGBT module exploded of BP Series/ BPlus Series/ Helios II Series

  • Damage AC output part MOS tube caused by overload of the inverter of BP/BPlus/Helios II Series
